Could it be that in the old days, Dogs and Man used to live, work and hunt side by side. When the time came to get food, we would work with our pack of dogs to locate and chase down our prey. When we got close we would throw our weapons, most probably spears to bring down the game. I believe that in dangerous situations, our dogs would go into the heat of the battle and retrieve our spears and bring them back to us and that is why they love to fetch. Proving once again that dogs really are our best friends.
